Have been recommended by an MNer to try Clos Magiore which is in King Street in Covent Garden. It looks lovely and on the map doesnt look that far from where we are going to the theatre (Her Majestys, Haymarket).

The Criterion Grill is closer, but dont know what its like and cant find any reviews.

Can anyone tell me how far King Street is in real life from Haymarket? and if we'd be better dining closer

TIA

It's not too far-15-20 mins slow walk, 10 in a taxi.

Restaurant looks lovely, but maybe too romantic for a quick pre-theatre dinner? Or are you eating after the performance?

If you are eating pre-theatre, I might go for Cafe Boheme, which is on Old Compton St in Soho, and about 10 mins walk from the theatre, It is a French bistro-style place, has just been tarted up and had some good reviews.

I was thinking of booking for about 5pm then we'd have a good hour and a half before we'd have to go to the theatre. It does look lovely.
Will have a look at Cafe Boheme
