Can anyone recommend a hotel in Majorca?

I am thinking of going to Majorca for a week in August with my DH and DS's aged 8 and 5. Does anyone have any recommendations of good hotels or apartments? I like the sound of Cala D'Or, or can anyone recommend any other resorts. Thanks.

We stayed in a hotel in Palma Nova (without ds), think it was called the Marina Torrenova (A Thomsons Hotel). We felt so bad as we just knew that ds would have loved it.

The beaches look lovely in Cala D'or, but do you think they would be too busy in August?

We stayed in the Marina Delfin Verde in Alcudia last July with my 8 DS, sister and father and it was fantastic. The hotel was lovely and clean, the staff could not be friendlier, the food was good, the children's club was fantastic and the evening entertainment catered for children and adults. The entertainment staff make the holiday really as they all put 110% into everything to make sure you have fun and the bar staff work very hard too!

It was worth every penny and we would all heartily recommend it. The beach is about five minutes walk away if you fancy leaving the pool but for those who like staying by the pool you always get sun loungers and there are games every day to keep you amused too!

Give it a try!

Has anyone heard anything about the Sa Marina Apartements in Cala D'or, as they are rated highly on Trip Advisor. Do you believe the ratings on Trip Advisor?

How about the north west, around pollenca or more south, towards soller. Pollenca very child friendly, a friend goes every year.Beach lovely. Deia lovely too. First Choice do a few good hotels and at the higher end of budget look at travel intelligence website. It tells you which are child friendly. Hotel Esplendido looks great but bit pricey. Are villas out of the option cos there's some good ones and with the pound so low would be something to think about?

Puerto Pollensa is fab. Check out puertopollensa.com for info on hotels etc.
