Where to go with an 8 month old in march this year?

hi there - we would like to get away for the first 2 weeks in march this year - something longhaul that has beach sun plus interesting stuff to do - any suggestions
I love the beach and the more social/ people watching side of things - my hubby is more of a history buff - our little lady is 8months and is a good flyer has flown already a few times and we had no probs suggestions welcome

I would go to Cape Town. Never been because of school holidays but top of my list. My parents who are very well travelled love it.
