Gozo is LOVELY

but not much entertainment for kids

good beaches

will be hot in April May- deffo need sunblock

good clean beaches, drinking water

speak english happily

cheap buses

if you can entertain your own kids then go for it

I would go to mainland Malta instead. Gozos lovely for a day trip but the children may get bored.

tissy · 31/12/2008 23:15

how much entertainment does a nearly three yr old need?

We went to Gozo when dd3 was just 2....the beaches are lovely, the food is great and economical - we ate out for luch and dinner every night (a family of 5).

Ramla beach is goreous and uncommercialised (you can hire parasols and sunbeds very cheaply and buy snacks/ice creams/drinks)

My two elder girls had a terrible incident where they could easily have drowned - but that was because they (both teens) went out too far and got caught by a weird current...the shallow water by the sand is fine!! We are actually considering going back this year!!

Thanks. DH is keen on malta but i think it will be too built up / busy for our tastes. We are kind of holiday snobs who like to entertain ourselves and dont' really large large hotels or busy swimming pools so i thought gozo might be relaxing. There's not much you can do with a 2 year old and a baby in two on holiday i suspect.

Gozo is great...we went in May and it was still 30 degrees sometimes!! The best beach on Gozo is called Ramla bay and it is beautiful and was never very crowded.

The restaurants are very nice and as all maltese peole speak English (and menus are also in English too) it was easy to know what you were ordering.
The pizzas were very tasty and very cheap!

There are plenty of places that are quiet too and far from the madding crowd!
