Can anyone recommend a 4 or 5 star self catering cottage or complex with an indoor pool that also allows a dog? Need 3 nights at the end of Jan, preferably within 1 hour of Bristol.

sellorrenovate · 31/12/2008 15:58

Thanks MrsSB, it's a possibility. DS would love it but not sure about DH and as this is really a break for DH I need to plan carefully!

here is great Dogs allowed in some of the cottages

Kempley Barns is the best though (in terms of luxury accommodation)

sellorrenovate · 31/12/2008 21:01

Thanks TSM, that looks great too. I'm going to bookmark the ones I don't use

Try this website: Baby Friendly Botholes

SIANCARDIFF · 04/01/2009 23:19

Maybe these www.babyfriendlyboltholes.co.uk/view.php?property=court_farm_cottages_(bude) ?

sellorrenovate · 05/01/2009 07:21

Thanks siancardiff, they look good but too far southwest I'm afraid. I'm going to phone the Kempley Barns people today, tried emailing but no reply as I suspect my hotmail has been spammed.

I am not sure if you can take dogs but worth a look:

sellorrenovate · 05/01/2009 16:08

Looks great but sadly they don't take dogs

Also Kempley Barns no longer take dogs. The Premier Cottages website indicated that they took them in one of the properties but sadly no longer.

That's a bummer!

Is this too far:

saggyhairyarse · 05/01/2009 21:58

Ignore previous post as is a hotel.

Will put thinking cap on.

sellorrenovate · 06/01/2009 08:45

saggyha -that looks great but was a bit further than I was planning to go. Having said that we could visit Bristol on the way.

I have been looking at hotels as well, all the usual suspects like Woolley Grange, Bishopstow etc.

Great work everyone, thanks for the suggestions . I know the dog is a tie but DH works abroad so this is a special break for us, as the dog is part of the family that he hasn't seen much of recently then she is coming too .

I got that hotel from here:

www.petfriendlyhotels.com/

But a friend did mention this place:

www.bluestonewales.com

Might be a bit far? But maybe worth considering in the future.

Good luck!

Have a look at www.devonholidayhouses.co.uk 2hrs from Bristol. Free pass for local hotel pool, sauna, table tennis etc which is 5 mins walk away.

ohappydays · 23/01/2009 12:10

quite expensive - only went for one night but calcot manor was brilliant for my child and dog. Creche and childrens/teen club with ofsted nannies. Two restaurants - one posh and one more for young children. Although we went to the "posh" one and it was fine.
Lovely pool and spa and you can book child care while having massages.
Bikes to cycle around the cotswold and safe cycle route on site. The long walks exhausted even my hyper dog.
Luxury bathrooms - my son thought the bath was like a pool
