Whereabouts are you? Do you drive?

TinySocks · 21/12/2008 16:52

I'll be visiting my in-laws in Bristol (We live abroad). We will have a car so no problem with driving.
Thanks!

Ok then...Zoo is fab but pricey
Depending on age of kids, SS Great Britain may be worth a poke around...surprising engaging for children actually
Lots of good soft plays with cafes for grown ups; which one depends on where you will be based
If you fancy a drive and are of a hardy disposition (its cold there!) then Slimbridge has lots of ducks and geese to hand feed. Not everyones cup of tea but we like it!
Ditto Westonbirt Arboretum - has a winter lights thing on at the mo I believe
There are a number of city farms that would warrant a quick visit, again depending on childrens ages and your location
Some of the local authority swimming pools have nice kiddy pools

Damn. Need to think..may pop back later...!

@Bristol has a hands on science thingy aimed at most ages. Like anything in Bristol its a bit spendy.

TinySocks · 21/12/2008 17:08

Thanks for all those brilliant ideas. If you can think of anything else please let me know.

How old are they?

Iceskating (Mall or Bristol ice rink).
Bristol zoo/@Bristol
Museum
Playspace/Jump (softplay depending on where you are)
Avon Valley Railway

How old are your DC and what area will you be visiting?

If children are older than five then definitely @Bristol. The science stuff there is fab and very hands on.
