Has anyone done this with children or know anyone who has? Who are the best companies for family cruises?

I am thinking somewhere Med, and definitely with good child friendly facilities.

I think this would suit me as I am easily bored on holiday and I went on a cruise with my family when I was a teen and apart from the one stormy night at sea off the coast of Israel, it was great

justine2912 / Bunch , I cruised with Cunard with my 2yrdd , and after dinners we changed her into her pjs and took her to the Zone (kids club) and she just played there and watched movies with other kids( dont normally do that at home with her but seeing it was just a holiday we let her stay up !) and fall asleep on their cushions until we came to collect her at midnight. I'm considering cruising again this summer but with P&O , and i read that their night nusery states that parents have to settle their kids to sleep before leaving them there. Enjoy your cruises !

Cruised several times with P and O.Although Ds was 8 on the 1st cruise. The youthies (children's staff) were excellant. Our Ds always goes to children's club in the evening. Children over 2 can go to children's club in the evening. It is open till 10.00pm. Then they can go to slumber till 12.00 where they watch videos and settle them down on cushions. Or the under 5 can go to night nursery, open from 18.00 to 2.00 am.The children need to be asleep when you leave them.
You could also bring your Ds to dinner with you.Tends to be more children at 1st sitting.

You have me hooked on Cruise web sites now!!

Just a question though. If the price quotes eg.£1300pp, does that the price for children too? I can't find anything about children's prices anywhere.

I want to start in Southampton, so we don't have to travel too far by car or plane, but the prices all seem a lot. I have been looking at P&O. Are there any good ones from there that are cheaper? I don't want beer swilling at dawn!

We are going from Southampton as I think you dont have to worry about the luggage allowance as much!! we booked ours through a travel agent and got a good deal I think!!!

Our DS was about 1/2 price but you will probably need to check.

Which company is that? How much is it? (If you don't mind me being nosy??)

Sorry its taken a while to come back, we paid £3500 its with P&O however we have gone for the balcony room as the inside cabins are really small and if theres more than 2 of you its a bit tite!!!!

Thats for 2 Adults and 1 Child
