Shite, appear to have booked a totally crap hotel - has anyone stayed at a 'devere venues'?

we are going away tonight to Wokefield park, Reading. Booked a room on the special £10 rate that was going a few weeks back. Didn't look at reviews at the time as was going on the name 'devere' which normally means decent quality. Have now looked at reviews and to be honest, it looks so bad it's not worth even going. - we are desperate for a night away and have my mum all set up to have the girls. But we get such poor sleep at home with the girls that the thought of a night in a dirty smelly hotel is more than we can bear.

Is anyone out there to reassure me? I think I'm going to start looking for another hotel, we're in Bournemouth so will go anywhere that's cheap and easy to get to.

I organise a work training course at a Devere venue - Horsley Park. It is fine, basic but fine, restaurant on site, swimming pool, gym etc. Go, have a great time!

They are conference venues which surely couldn't function if they had really bad reviews. The people that stay in them usually are probably used to the Ritz Carlton. I'm a girl that spends her holidays in a tent so I was impressed ha ha!! Certainly far from smelly or dirty, very clean and modern.
