www - might be able to do Bristol with you.

WideWebWitch · 26/03/2005 08:13

That would be good tortoiseshell! We'll co-ordinate nearer the time.

Bensmum - I think you need to change stations in glasgow - there is no rail link between glasgow queen st and glasgow central. Sorry if you already knew this......

Thankyou, I was told they are quite close together, about 10 min walk ? I hope that's right.
To answer Pruni's question, we live on the small Isles.
This is sooo exciting, I'm suppose to be looking for a wedding outfit and I keep getting drawn to skirts with big petticoats.
In my origional post someone suggested valium, I don't think I'll need it now.

Miaou · 26/03/2005 20:35

Bensmum (not stalking you, honest!), IIRC you can get a bus from outside Glasgow Queen Street which takes you directly to Glasgow Central - I think they run every 5-10 mins and cost about 70p. There are also millions of taxis outside too. As long as you don't hang about 1/2 an hour is plenty of time to make the connection (done it about 4 times and never missed the train!)

whoops sorry, feeding you duff information there. I wonder if I am thinking about Edinburgh instead.

MadameButterfly · 26/03/2005 21:43

The glasgow stations are failry close together, there is also an underground link between the two.

May be able to do B'ham New Street. I will check with DP nearer the time and will be there if he is going to be in B'ham.

Not a problem. I have not got the train from glasgow for a few years now, and have obviously forgotten everything.

bensmum3 · 27/03/2005 19:52

Madame butterfly, do you come from scotland? and Thankyou for helping.Ainsmum, If you're around and don't mind escorting 5 slightly mad people it would be great, I'm doing my best at the moment to limit our luggage, which isn't easy as we are going to a wedding. I've decided to use disposible nappies on ds whilst we are away,as we can buy them down there, and I think we might have to smell a wee bit on the return journey.

Bensmum - if I were you I would definitely take up the offer from Aimsmum. Yes it s a 10 minute walk - but that's quite a long way in a city centre if you have 3 kids and luggage and dont know the way and are stressed about getting lost or missing the train. Esp if your kids have no traffic sense like mine so you have to hang onto them for dear life. Which I suspect they dont, knowing where you live....

Or splash out on an taxi.

Dont mean to be a pain - I just know that connections are the most stressful part of a journey

Hi there, I am originally from Paisley, but moved to the midlands in 1987 when my dad got a job down there. My parents have since moved back to Livingston (near Edinburgh) and I visit them reglarly

bensmum3 · 27/03/2005 20:51

Thankyou, If you can find it, that would be great,we could return it on our return journey, but dont worry if you can't.( my children won't notice if it's old as they don't have one). How old is your dd ?

bensmum3 · 27/03/2005 20:52

MunchedTooManyMarsLady · 27/03/2005 23:51

I've just read this thread and it's wonderful. You're not doing any London stations. What a shame. Well I shall be waving my red pants in spirit.

Hayls · 30/03/2005 19:56

I could maybe do Cheltenham...
