Dh with very sensitive stomach going to India, what to look out for?

Dh is worried that instead of attending business meetings he will spend large amounts of time in the bathroom. He will be a bit off the beaten track as well, so there won't be necessarily lots of western type food available. Any tips?

You can be unlucky anywhere, but after nine years in Asia I can tell you that you are much less likely to get a bug from a Banyan Tree or Le Meridien than Dave's Beach Cafe, Souvenirs And Karaoke. Apart from better refrigeration, at least it's in the staff training manual that food prep people must wash their hands after going to the toilet and use different chopping boards for raw meat and everything else.

Your DH should probably take some sachets of rehydration salts, just in case he does get sick.

No food from street stalls/traders, plus all the things everyone else said. bottled water for everything, including washing hands/ face/ teeth.

A daily spoonful of cider vinegar might help - a friend of mine did that and she didn't get ill.

You could get him this spray which has good effectiveness and can be sprayed onto cutlery/ plates/ etc; plus there is one for hands as well.
