For DS. (I know what one I would rather see and it sure aint the latter.)

If by any chance anyone has seen Hairspray, would a 9 year old boy enjoy? (Please say yes)

If you do decide on Hairspray (which is excellent) then check out for good deals

I thought Horrid Henry was abolutely awful. Children enjoyed it but only in a lukewarm sort of way. I would have thought a 9 year old would far prefer Hairspray

I think hulababy went with her dd a while back and raved about it (to Horrid Henry that is).

My 6y DD (and the friends of hers who we also knew went) loved the Horrid Henry show. DD loved the singing and dancing aspects of it.

I was happy that DD was happy.

Not seen Hairspray at theatre but it is a show DD wants to see also.

My son loves Horrid Henry, but I would have thought it would be awful to see on stage, yet it seems to have great reviews in the papers. So I am genuinely stuck.

Do you think 9 year old boy would like it Hulababy? Its the only show hes in interested in and the only one I'm not.

I really don't know TBH. I don't know much about older children esp boys. 9y is probably a bit older than mot of audience, most seemed DD's age.

MarsLady · 15/12/2008 18:11

You're more than welcome.

tiredsville · 15/12/2008 18:31

Thanks, maybe he is a bit too old for HH. Hairspray it is then!

I went to see Horrid henry and I really really enjoyed it. As did my kids and dh. It was fab.

tiredsville · 15/12/2008 22:36

Oh, now you've thrown me off again Banshee.

oops sorry. Basically if you like HH, I think you will enjoy it, if not pretend it was sold out and go to hairspray. TBH part of the fun is simply going to the theatre. BTW don't buy their ice cream, it is shockingly expensive

chocolatedot · 16/12/2008 10:14

I've only seen 2 reviews of HH, Times and FT and both were negative. My 9 year old likes the cartoon but didn't particularly like the show, finding it quite lame. My 6 and 5 year olds liked it. DH and I hated it although we quite like the books. My 9 year old has enjoyed the big west end shows SO much more.

chocolatedot · 16/12/2008 10:18

I see they've announced HH is to close a week early in London

tiredsville · 16/12/2008 19:57

Thanks everyone, decided to do Hairspray.
