Tazmania ?

We are looking at potentially moving out there because it's the only place DH would get automatic residency if we went to Oz.
Has anybody been out there for a holiday and would you go back, I realise living there is different.

I have lived in Tassie a bit, and may be moving there at a later date. It's a very beautiful place and the landscape in itself is worth going there for. If we do move there, the main concern I have is that it's a very conservative place - so I would have to live in Hobart, which seems to be the most outward-looking part of Tas. Still, Hobart's not a very big city so it depends on what sort of lifestyle you are looking for - for culture, arts etc, I have to say that Melbourne has a lot more going on.

So, for me, the pros of Tassie are its natural beauty, its laid-backness, clean air and temperate climate. Cons are the fact that you do feel quite 'cut-off' and disconnected from the wider world. That may just be me though .
