It's my mothers 60th birthday in jan, and she's very keen for us all to have a slap up meal- but her grandchildren HAVE to be there (could start a whole other thread about her social dependency on grandchildren...). Any ideas/ recommendations? money not really a problem cos a special occasion.

Would be very very grateful, really getting worried about reservations.

Hi, hope this works, it's my first post ever! The Boxwood Cafe is fab'. It's one of Gordon Ramsey's but it provides highchairs, a children's menu and colouring in. My 4 year old dd loved it there. Hope this helps.

Try Locanda Locatelli on a sunday lunch. The food and ambience is amazing and very child friendly in true Italian style

i recently went to the ritz and there was a section where the must do the high tea and there was lots of children, highchairs and bits of food on the floor, all in ott gilt surroundings and a grand piona tinkling away....looked like great fun!

Had a lovely afternoon tea at Claridges when my ds was 3 months. Staff were very accommodating and friendly.
