How was it? There was a thread before about this, but nobody seemed to have been ...

we went today - was heaving but we had a lovely time. Food in the food tent was extortionate - £17 for 2 hot dogs, a pasty, an OJ, water & tea. But we enjoyed it - DS had a ball on the carousel, helter skelter and one other ride. I enjoyed wandering around the market. Enjoyed watching the ice skating. There was a lot more there we didn't do as DS is just a pre-schooler.

Is it worth going with an 8yr old?

annoyingdevil · 11/12/2008 14:18

We went on Sunday with DD (3) and DS (2) and they loved it. Loads of rides for younger and older children, and the German markets are great to browse around. (try some mulled wine!)

It is expensive though!

an 8 year old will love it - so will you.

We went last sunday too.

i took Ds 8 and Dd 4 and they both loved it...not quite as much as me though

ChristmasDisco · 13/12/2008 10:47

oh glad its on till new year cos we're going to the big smoke after xmas. DD's are 5 and 3.

We thought it was pretty rubbish, expensive food, some overpriced stalls selling nothing you would want to buy and a few fairground rides, OK to pass an hour but definately nothing to get excited by.

tiredsville · 15/12/2008 17:03

We went last year DC loved it. It was fun, but rides were expensive.

ThePellyandMe · 19/12/2008 03:47

We went and thought it was pretty rubbish TBH. We were expecting something a bit more classy I guess. The rides were really expensive, we certainly wouldn't go again.
