We saw that hotel this year, it is in a fab location, what a view!!!

Who are you booking this through?

ALovelySongbirdInaPearTree · 08/12/2008 16:59

hi ruthie, we booked it through low cost bed, but to get the best price you need to go from travel supermarket then onto low cost beds, as if you go stright to low cost beds its about 30 quid dearer

it does look like a nice place to have your brekkie looking out over the sea, almost on the beach.

did you enjoy pp? rithie?
ive been before about 10 years ago pre dd.

We loved it. First time there and can't wait to return.

Kids also loved it, spent all day paddling in the warm shallow waters. It was the best holiday we have had since having the kiddies.

Enjoy!!

ALovelySongbirdInaPearTree · 08/12/2008 21:51

ruthie what part of the beach did you go to?
the onlt thing i a worried about is incase the beach or sea at the pine walk part of a bit rocky or weedy.

We went to Pine Walk beach all the time, having said that South beach is lovely.

Pine walk beach was not at all weedy, we loved it. There are some rock pools at the top end. It was great to have the beach one side of the walk and shops/restaurants the other.

ALovelySongbirdInaPearTree · 09/12/2008 14:01

oh thanks ruthie you have really cheered my day up

so your able to swim ok in the pine walk. i love to swim in the sea.

do you normally use sun beds or lay on beach towels?
can you remember any nice restuarants ?
ive heard people talking about little italy.

Yes, we swam loads at Pine Walk, it is lovely.

We had several lunches at Little Italy. A good value restaurant with great pizzas. Great for the kids as well who shared a pizza. (staff could be friendlier!!!) Then we headed back to the beach.

It can work out expensive to eat out for both lunch and dinner. So some days we headed back to apartment for lunch. Also, some days we bought rolls from a take away sandwich bar and had them on the beach. Loads of options.

Can recommend Brisa Marina, Guru and El Posito for lovely meals. Check out puertopollensa.com .... a fab website. Click on forum and you will find loads of info on restaurants.

DeckHallsWithFIMBOughsofHolly · 10/12/2008 09:34

Yes please.

I have tried Easyjet and they wanted nearly £700 for 4 of us but we need to go Saturday to Saturday.

ALovelySongbirdInaPearTree · 10/12/2008 09:38

here

700 quid! shit.
if you tell me the dates i'll have a look for you if you like.

DeckHallsWithFIMBOughsofHolly · 10/12/2008 09:46

Thank you Songbird you are very kind.

I have just gone through the link and gone to Ryanair they are now quoting just over £700 quid too. I think its because its Easter and Saturdays.

We are considering cancelling the whole thing actually and just losing our deposit.

ALovelySongbirdInaPearTree · 10/12/2008 09:51

that is a lot of money for flights to spain.
they know they will sell the seats though i guess so they charge what they like like in the school hols.

where had you booked your accomadation?

it might work out cheaper in the long run to lose the deposit and go at a cheaper time

OP posts:
DeckHallsWithFIMBOughsofHolly · 10/12/2008 09:55

It's a villa in the countryside near Pollensa town. We went for Easter so we could have 2 weeks as it costs a fortune in the school summer holidays.

I am beginning to think losing the deposit is the best idea. We sort of jumped the gun a bit booking I think. Plus we need to get to Stansted and pay for car parking there for 2 weeks then hire a car the other side.

I am doing a good job talking myself out of it!

Thanks for all your help and I hope you have a lovely time.

Ruthiebabes · 10/12/2008 09:55

Lovelysongbird.... my dc's are 5 and 2

ALovelySongbirdInaPearTree · 10/12/2008 10:07

deck, how about flying from luton?

it certainly all adds up though.

ruthie, what other hols have you taken them on? we took dd to cala dor majorca this year and weve taken her to brighton too.

Been to Algarve a couple of times, stayed in Lagos which is fab. The only negative about Algarve is the cold sea, as it is the Atlantic Ocean not the Med!!

ALovelySongbirdInaPearTree · 10/12/2008 12:23

ruthie funny you should say that one of my best friend wen tthere this year, she said the beach was lush and the food was fantastic.

it certainly looked stunning on the photos

OP posts:
Ruthiebabes · 10/12/2008 13:13

Yes, beaches are amazing.

I would recommend it, we first went without dc's and explored all around. Had a lovely time.

ALovelySongbirdInaPearTree · 10/12/2008 13:48

shame the sea is cold there.
