Mousses - are there any differences between the houses

Hello all

I'm thinking of booking to go to Mousses next May.

On the website, some of the houses are more expensive than others.

Just wondering, is there any reason for the price difference - are some next to a busy road for example?

Any help much appreciated. Simply Travel lists the houses by name so if anyone has been and can remember which one they stayed in that'd be great!

Thanks a lot

None of the houses are by a main road. I don't remember a price difference when we booked (but was 4 years ago!). Perhaps its because some are closer to the pool? We had a villa that was in the gardens but tbh none of the properties are actually far from the pool (a minutes walk at most - if that).

best houses 8 and 5 - they are detached. 8 the quietest of the two, though all quite similar in this respect. no huge differences though really.
hope this helps

Thanks so much for replying. Glad to know there's not too much difference.

Did you both enjoy your stay there?

I've been reading some so-so reviews on here recently so that's put a little bit of doubt in my mind.

Mousie, would you know the names of no.8 or no.5 by any chance? Simply Travel doesn't list them by number unfortunately but by names (ie. Ourania, Cleo etc)

Thalia is no 8 I think. they should know which two are the detached houses - i take it they are the two most expensive ones??

i would say it's not quite as great as it used to be - but still very much the closest thing to a holiday we have had since kids. do cat me for more info...

They just put you in one. Thet are all nice. The two villas are behind a hedge.

Castor and Pollox are more expensive as they are MUCH bigger and have their own private pool. We had a sneaky look round last year and they are gorgeous - but not sure it's worth paying more for a private pool when the main one is lovely and never feels crowded. We stayed in No 3 (Eliterpe) last year, which was fine. Uncomfy beds though. We've booked one of the detached ones for this May.
HTH.

Sorry - bit late in replying to this one. But we loved Mousses and the kids had a ball. Very friendly atmosphere. Fabulous creche. Lovely pool and gardens. Lefkas Town a 5 minute car ride away. The town is really nice at night - lots of people watching opportunities, child friendly and stuffed full of locals rather than just tourists. Great beach front restaurant about 10 - 15 minutes stroll from Mousses which had very laid back vibe - not much else around it but food was great and the kids played on the sand whilst DH and I chatted and drank the local wine......sigh....... Simon was the rep when we were there (3 summers ago now) and he was great - couldn't do enough for us - and is still there afaik.

Dont remember name of our villa but it overlooked the gardens rather than the pool. Was perfect for us though because we felt more relaxed about the kids pootling around on the patio without immediate water danger.

I would definitely go back again.

oh and there is a great little shop a short stroll away which sells delicious pain au chocolat and delicious bread

Have just booked for end of June (based on all the research I have done on mn!!). Can't wait. Am sure I will have some questions to ask nearer the time

stressed2007 · 26/01/2009 13:34

Where are these? Thanks

TheRealMrsJohnSimm · 27/01/2009 21:44

They are in Lefkas. You can book through Simply Travel

The more expensive villas (Castor & Pollux) are larger and nicer but the 3rd bedroom is not accessible from inside the villa which I found a bit off. It is also slightly further away from the other villas and closer to road access, so less opportunity to let your kids play out in the gardens whilst you are in the villa imo. That said Mousses does seem to rely on 2 adults/2 kids per villa. Simon wasn't the rep last season, but his wife was.
