Says it all really. DH has an airmile voucher so we can go anywhere in the world business class and just need to find a hotel but don't know where to go!!

Any suggestions?? we went to Mauritus on honeymoon so would like to go there for sentimental reasons but not sure if its too far for 4 nights!

Welcome any ideas!

Thanks SL x

New York. Perfect for 4 nights. My favourite city.

saggyhairyarse · 28/11/2008 22:26

Dubai?

New York?

Cape Town? (Long flight but no jet lag.)

lizandlulu · 29/11/2008 14:07

yes new york, without a doubt. unless you have been before, but it wouldnt stop me from going again

mumoverseas · 29/11/2008 16:58

I'd say Dubai or New York, depending on the time of year. There are some fabulous hotels in Dubai, particularly on Jumeirah beach but if its in the summer, ie late June - Sept its a bit hot them. Also, bear in mind that ramadam is much earlier next year, from around August time so that would impact on your break in that a lot of places will be shut during the day.

In my part of the world, East Africa, I can recommend this or to Shompole where i hoping dh will take me for our 10th WA next year.

detoxdiva · 29/11/2008 17:51

Muscat, Oman. The weather of Dubai (don't go between July-Sept - too hot) but without the brash-ness. Beautiful place.

I love Cape Town too

FeelingLucky · 29/11/2008 18:00

Return to Mauritus.
I'm very sentimental

mumoverseas · 29/11/2008 21:05

ooh, detoxdiva reminded me of another fab place in Oman (not muscat, the bit at the top of UAE peninsula which is separated from the rest of Oman) My DH and I went there for 3 days in September to a place called Six Senses Resort at Zighy Bay. It was fabulous, very expensive but amazing. It is in the middle of nowhere and the way down the mountains to the resort is by 4 x 4 or attached to the resorts resident paraglider. I booked the paraglider option for my DH (he had no idea where we were going) and he loved it (although he fancies himself as a bit of a James Bond now, but without the Aston Martin) I was a chicken and went by car! The resort is amazing and all the villas have infinity pools which are fab. Definitely worth a look

Mnemba island in Zanzibar. Heaven.

What about the Al Maha Desert Resort in Dubai, my inlaws stayed there a couple of years ago and said it was the best place they have ever been too. it's not on the beach however but have your own private pool attached to your room, it's a conservation resort as well.

mynewnickname · 28/12/2008 11:04

Don't be under any illusions about Dubai being gorgeous. It is not. Vibrant and exciting, maybe but no longer gorgeous.

Mauritius in business class would win for me. Or Zighy Bay.

I presume it's 4 days without the children?
