I need one to take to Australia. What are the recommendations for a then 8 month old. They seem quite heavy which is concerning.

Where are you staying - can this item not be provided?. Not worth either the hassle and expense to take such a thing to Oz.

I thought that but we're staying with family and en-route we're staying in South Africa where cots are not available in hotels/accommodation.

What about a bushbaby one that collapses flat?
