Whats the best website to find and book flights on?

Hi! We are new to the UK and I need to book some international flights but don't really know where to start searching for flights so that I can get a comparison of what is available. Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

Also do fights generally get cheaper or more expensive as the departure date approaches?

Thanks!

Trailfinders

Depends on destination really

Sunday papers have lots of ads in the back (including ones for these) If you ring, they will do the searching for you.

Thanks I'll check out those sights and would love to hear of any other popular ones.

They get more expensive as the date approaches.

Try expedia. I really depends where you are going.

Kayak.co.uk is by far the best. It doesn't sell tickets, but it has the information from expedia, etc etc, and lets you know what's the cheapest. Only one hassle - it doesn't let you find out what the cost for kid tickets is (I've asked for this - I'm sure they'll implement it eventually.).
