Can anyone recommend anything? Four adults. We'd want something nice, but not break the bank nice! TIA

Hotel Bayerischer Hof has come on a bit lately after a refit, but I am not sure how you will find the prices. You have the Garden Restaurant, Trader Vic's and a really super Bierkeller to choose from. Trader Vic's is really good fun and I absolutely love it (Polynesian food, big shared cocktails in bowls and so on). But main courses start at about 20+ euros. Menu is here:

Afterwards you can have drinks in the hotel's nightclub or maybe in the lounge on the mezzanine floor, which again is a bit pricey, but so, so nice!

Moevenpick is good too.

If you don't mind travelling quite a few miles from the city centre, the Poseidon in Garching is lovely. The food is Greek and very tasty:

You'd need to catch the U-Bahn to Garching-Forschungszentrum.
