We want to fill the gap between 29- 31 Dec...we'll have done alot of rushing around beforehand and as we dont go out NY's Eve thought why not have a mini break.

Live in Nottingham - so not too far. Did think London but it will cost £400 for accommodation and train before we even start!

Was thinking:

  • Nice kid friendly hotel with pool (for LO who love's swimming)

  • Something to do close by for one of the days - thats open at this time

  • Decent food in hotel

  • Not too far to travel ie dont want to be in the car for 3 hours

Look forward to your suggestions!

What are you thinking city or log cabin in the woods??

skramble · 22/11/2008 00:13

Sorry didn't finish message, I meant to add I am doing 2 nights in a city hotel as I won't have the kids. But if I had the kids I would maybe do lag cabin.

Do you have club card points to use up ?

How about Alton Towers Hotel/resort - I've never been so can't recommend but a friend went last year overnight and kids had a fab time in the great swimming pool area. They have some rides open too. Might be worth checking it out!
