Unrealistic expectations or just plain picky?

DH, DD (who will be 11) & I need a holiday

I fancy something a bit different

Egypt
Jamaica
A cruise
Maybe Africa (worried about inoculations & malaria)

We have to travel between 26th December & 4th January (work at 7.30 Monday 5th )

& we cannot spend too much

I just can't find anything I fancy

If (& I have to be honest it is a big if) I have to spend £3000 I will - but it means we will spend pretty much all of next year paying it off

It's the last year DD can travel as a child, I need sunshine plus it is our 15yr anniversary

Are there any experts about?

Just put it together yourself.
Buy a Lonely Planet, plan itinerary and book first few nights accomm.

Get cheapest flight possible through Travelbag or Trailfinders.

Voila.

Egypt is lovely and sunny right now... but then it always is. I love Egypt.

Or Israel.

Maldives?

I would honestly not go somewhere where you need injections at short notice.

I have been to Egypt and was really ill (even thou we were really careful about what we ate and drank) this lasted for about 3 wks after we returned home.

Is it definately sunshine you are after, or just a holiday to get away to!

What about a snow holiday, as in not a ski holiday, but roaring log fire, time out in the snow, tobogganing, snow ball fights, making snowmen/angels, ski lift rides etc oooh just imagine how romantic that could be, nice log cabin......
Oh and hardly any jet lag!

KatyMac · 15/11/2008 20:34

I found a cruise & we could just afford it - but it was fully booked

You can have sun without the heat! (sometimes!)

KatyMac · 15/11/2008 20:52

I guess - I really fancied the cruise tho'

Is it a character flaw do you think?
