Hi,

Me and a mate have an opportunity for a rare night away from our one year olds while respective DPs mind the shop for a night.

Need to find a nice, comfortable-to-sploshy hotel for a one night break either North or South out of London.

I'm 6 months preg so not up for big drinking or massive amount of sauna or mud baths, but we'd like to find a place that has a pool, maybe a few treatments - wouldn't mind having my legs waxed and my nails done - but certainly not some huge place that smells of chlorine and has hundreds of people wandering about in dressing gowns.

Good food is very important. Nice country would be a plus, but not too far out of London, North or South.

Can anybody suggest? Ta, Poppy x

Danesfield Manor im Marlow. (Think i've spelt it correctly). It really is lovely but not cheap. I'll see if I can find a link.

Ooh and offers!

Danefield House - sorry. We spent a night there with some considerably richer friends a few years ago. There are lots of restaurants in Marlow if the hotel is a bit pricey.

The Grove in Watford-if you really want to splash out...

Or alternatively a bit further south:

We stayed a couple of times on work things. The pool etc is great.

Hanbury Manor in Ware, Hertfordshire is really lovely and very near outskirts of North London. It is quite expensive though but if you and your friend shared a twin room, it would make it more reasonable.

The Runnymede Hotel (J13 of M25) does maternity spa days.
