DS(6) has his friend (same age) coming to stay next weekend and I was thinking of taking them here - anyone been? any good? Will also have 2 year old DD with us so hopefully she'll be entertained too!

(sticks in craw to be doing christmassy stuff in november but I expect they'll love it)

I wouldn't hellsbells...
A really dirty chicken farm last time I went.
Go to the rare breeds instead

ingles2 · 13/11/2008 16:50

hellsbells76 · 13/11/2008 16:56

yup we'll probably do groombridge, ds loved it last time we went. will see what the weather does between now and then though, could get extremely muddy which is not fun with all those steep slopes!! thanks

I love Rye and come from there originally, but it is not a very child-friendly town.
Can't think of one shop/restaurant/public toilet with baby changing facilities, and the pavements are quite narrow for pushchairs.

RomanCandleQueen · 13/11/2008 17:01

Sorry, just re-read OP! Nappy changing and pushchair problems probably not a deal-breaker for you!

Do not go to reindeer centre Kent TN26
Like a mud bath. Queue to park. No choice but to park in a muddy field where you are guaranteed to get your car stuck.
Poorly kept chickens and pigs. Queue for hrs to get an expensive ticket that gains you entry to a crappy old barn, a merchandise shop and a burger van.... Not a good day out. Take my advice. Didn't see one reindeer

Oh dear, have promised two DC, 6 & 4 that we'll go there on Xmas Eve- is it really that bad, website infers that there reindeers galore! If really is grim, need urgent ideas of where else to go - within 1 hour of SE London ideally and with a Santa Claus and animals. Help!!
