we have 1 DD (22 months), Dh has just changed his work pattern so now works 4 long days and has a day off in the week as well as the weekend. He has decided that on his wednesday off he wants to spend time just him and dd at a class/group etc, i think this is a lovely idea. However he wants me to think of something for them to do and he also doesnt want to be the only dad doing it. So i thought i would try and find some inspiration on here.

What does your DH/DP do with your DC's?

MIne doesn't do anything, but he could do

music classes

swimming

tumbletots

library (for storytime)

Mine takes them fishing, birdwatching, mini golf, the snow dome, climbing trees, football and to the park.

Wild horses wouldn't get him near a "class" though so full marks to yours.

Oh, actually wild horses reminds me, he did used to take DD for her riding lesson, but watched from the car!

lol yeah dp wouldn't touch a group w/barge pole either. they go to the park, the museum or to a baby cafe type place where he can (notionally) have a coffee and read the paper.

My dh wouldn't go to a class or group thing for all the tea in China.

He takes them to Farmers Markets, Imperial War Musuem at Duxford (very popular with ds1, we have an annual pass), soft play (under duress), playgrounds, visit to his office in London (considered very exciting by ds1), to his SILs house, Whipsnade.

He'll take one or other food shopping, but not both (don't blame him - all hell beaks loose when both go). He'll take ds2 to do other shopping, but not ds1.

My DH takes our daughter (22 months, too) to various places. Swimming, a café for lunch, toddler group (there are other dads there quite often), museums, city farm type places, Kew Gardens, the park (swings etc), the library, feeding the ducks or squirrels etc etc etc.

DH takes dd swimming, soft play, the park; shopping (she likes to help as long as she can sit in the mini ride afterwards...and she hasn't yet worked out that it does something is you put money in). Also library and toy library. He has taken her (when she was a baby) to a NCT Mums groups to do some 'footprints on a plate' milarkey. I was supposed to go and a job interview came up so he went instead. He said it was GREAT because all the others mums made such a fuss over him and his ability to change nappies and feed a bottle of expressed breastmilk

Oh yes, DH also takes DD shopping and lets her stand in the trolley which I NEVER do. She thinks it is the most enormous treat, the tiny fool.

Remembered a couple of other places he takes them - garden centre and the dump!
