We're going to a wedding on Rehoboth Beach in July: me (33 weeks pg), DH and DD (who'll be 18m). Any recommendations - particularly hotels? (We'll need some sort of separate room/sleeping area for DD.)

I think that Suite hotels offer the best kind of accommodation for families. There is likely to be a king-sized bed in the bedroom, and a sofa bed in the living room. There would be plenty of space for a cot as well.

Failing that, a pair of king/queen adjoining rooms if you want to have 2 rooms. Otherwise, there is plenty of space in a standard US hotel room (2 queen-sized beds).

Thanks Ameriscot - yes a suite hotel sounds like the best option as sleeping in the same room doesn't work for any of us any more!

Franch,

There is a Hampton Inn suite hotel in Rehoboth Beach. If you initially go to www.embassysuites.com and type in the city and state (DE) it should come up with this one.

I have previously stayed in a similar chain of suite hotels and have found them ideal for families.

Thanks Meerkat - there is a Hampton Inn but it doesn't seem to have suites unfortunately. Have found one or two other suite hotels though - trying to decide between that and renting a house for a week - the latter seems to be a popular option there and can be cheaper, but we're a bit dubious!

We lived in Maryland and visited Rehoboth regularly - it was about a 2 hour drive. Would really recommend a house rental which we did one May, why are you dubious? I will try and find the details of the one we stayed at

The standard of accomodation is usually very high as Americans expect it
