Off to Lapland with Canterbury Travel soon - for four nights. All inclusive, except drinks, souvenirs, general stuff (like tea and general groceries for the lodge), using the hotel facilities for swimming etc. HOw much should I take for me and DD (5 yo)? Any ideas? I don't want to miss out on any optional excursions when there by taking too little, but don't want to take too much as you lose so much converting currency!

Anyone been? Any ideas?

Hi

I went last year - had a fantastic time!

We didnt really spend much - our meals were included! We stayed in Lustotonturi hotel (which I have spelt wrong!) and there was a gift shop across the road. On the way back, we stopped at the north pole border, where there is a shopping area, and went shopping there!!

There were quite a few optional excursions, but they were detailed in the information before hand. As it was only me and my daughter (who was 5 also) we couldnt take part in some of them, as there had to be a min. number.

We had a brilliant time! I cannot recommend it enough!! But we were completely knackered after each day!!

Happy to answer any other questions!

Have a great time,
Stephanie

Also went to Lapland with Canterbury a few years ago. And had a fantastic time.

How much you take depends on the hotel you may be able to pay for excursions and bar tab by credit card check with Canterbury they should be able to tell you.

If you have to pay cash beer in mind that alcohol is expensive in Finland by UK standards (often double), soft drinks are about the same. Excursions you should be able to get the prices beforehand and budget appropriately.

Have a great time.
