hi there

does anyone have advice about how i should feed my 6mth old baby on a flight to nz? im a bit confused about how i steralise (sp??) bottles, planning to take a box of powder but when do you not need to be so careful with cleaning bottles??
have looked at prepacked bottles but are a diff brand than the ones i currently use (avent) any advice would be great!

thanks

Try the disposable bottles. I did this when I took my dd to Australia. I tried one before I bought a whole bunch and she took the change of bottle really well. Fed her solidly with them the week before the flight so there was no drama. And they are so much easier than faffing around trying to sterilise. Boots stock them. Happy travels.

I went to NZ when DD was 3 months at the beginning of the year I was BFing but wanted to tell you that the air hostesses are really nice and get you water etc. At 6 months you don't need to worry about sterilizing so much but maybe strelize before you go and then ask hostess to blast under the hot water for next feeds. Try to save feeds for take off as this helps ears. Hopefully you will get a crib that attachs to the wall which will give you a bit of peace hopefully.

You don't need to steralize bottles for a 6 month old, just get the hostie to wash them out for you. Don't know about the pre-packed bottles, but if they contain liquid they may make you taste each one before the flight, which makes them pretty useless. You can buy the pre-made cartons at the airport though, which is easier than mixing things up on the flight. When we went to Aus, DS ended up having about 3 different brands of formula during the holiday, and he didn't mind one bit- never even noticed as far as I could see!
