Overnight stay in central London - suggestions for evening please?

My DH are spending the day in London next Friday, and staying overnight at a hotel in Aldwych. Anyone got any suggestions for a nice restaurant, and also somewhere to go in the evening after dinner - a good bar with live music, maybe?

Any resturants/bars recommended near Covent Garden? Pretty please?

Hello, the bar at One Aldwych is LOVELY, fairly expensive but service is fab and lovely cocktails. Tas is a small restaurant around the corner which is ok and not too expensive or I ate at Orso near there too recently and liked it.

Cafe des Amis just off Long Acre is lovely. Nice smartish French restaurant

Go to Le Palais du Jardin in Covent Garden - fantastic seafood as well as meat but seafood platters are to die for. Lovely atmosphere and walking distance from One Aldwych ...thsi hotel always makes me smile...the first time we ever went there for a drink, I had a glass of red and my hib had a G & T - he gave them £20 note, he thought he had been short changed as he got something like 50p back in change!!!

Sarastro's on the corner of Covent Garen is fab. Decorated like a theatre, with boxes instead of tables, and usually some entertainment going on too.

Carluccio's is excellent and not over-priced. Far cheaper than Caffe Uno, Prezzo etc in our little town.
