A friend sent me details of this Ryanair offer. It's not advertised on their website, you have to put in the dates you want and see if the price comes up as £00.01 per flight. I've just booked for the 4 of us to go to Klagenfurt, Austria as dp has family there. I paid £105 total, which is just taxes.

Fly for free, just pay the taxes, on 10 routes from London
Book midnight tonight to midnight Monday 3rd March
Travel between 14th March and 15th May except over the
Easter period, 14 days advance purchase required
Seats available 1200 hrs Monday to 1300 hrs Thursday
and Saturday after 1200 hrs

London Stansted to

Brussels Charleroi
Stockholm Vasteras
City of Derry
Newquay
Stockholm Skavsta
Strasbourg
Nimes
Klagenfurt
Malmo
Shannon

Thank you!

Have you booked something then?

No, but my parents live in Cornwall & it is so difficult to get to see them (we are two hours away from Stansted), DS & I flew once & it makes it quicker ........although a toddler on a plane is not ideal!! But if he had his own seat for 1p it might be a bit easier. Will look at the diary & see if I can book anything up.

Has anyone ever tried staying at any of the Austrian "kinderhotels"? This one isn't far from Klagenfurt and with cheap flights it sounds like it might be a nice break?

Thanks Fionn for posting this. I'm afraid I can't make use of it at the moment but it was kind of you to pass it on.

Maybe next time...

GillW - I think it's hotels like this that are causing problems for family hotels like the one dp's cousin runs there! Small independent hotels can't afford all that stuff. Though personally I wouldn't want to go anywhere where you could pack your kids off, I like family holidays (so far!). And I like places which aren't full of other families with small children!

Just booked to go to Newquay for Whitsun, thanks for the tip. £100 for 4 of us.

Fionn · 26/04/2003 08:00

Glad you were able to make use of the tip! I'm looking forward to Austria in a couple of weeks though still haven't learnt a word of German to talk to dp's aged rellies!
