We live in London, so he's done most of the obvious ones- Natural History, Science Museum, Transport Museum, Aqaurium, Zoo and I don't think DH and I could stomach soft play, Eddie Catz type place so somewhere interesting for him but not too awful for us. There must be hidden gems that we haven't heard of/thought of. He's into normal three year old stuff. He loved all of the above, though wasn't greatly interested in zoo. He's also had a boat trip on Thames which he wasn't that fussed by. We're willing to drive out a bit, and I thought of Legoland but it's shut tomorrow.

Coram's field, near Russel Square. It's free and there's sandpits, swings, a few animals (sheep, ducks, rabbits, chicken), climbing frames, and a cafe. Sometimes they have crafty activities during the holidays. Couldn't find a website but found this link

Discover in Stratford is great for this age, take a picnic and eat in the garden if weather good

Also second Coram's fields, take sandpit stuff, there's a Giraffe nearby for lunch (I seem to be food obsessed today)

Sorry I didn't reply yesterday- wonder which lovely place you went to today? Anyway for future ref Greenwich is good for 3 year olds as the naval museum has a good little kids bit including a crane you can operate yourself, there's a big playground in the park and the observatory is fun if you pick the right bits. Also loads of sweet chestnuts in the park at this time of year you can collect and eat when you get home.

Had a fab day. Went to Bethnel Green Museum of Childhood. What a glorious building. Brilliant huge Victorian industrial type place all painted pale pink inside with beautiful frontage and lovely cafe and lots to do. Wonderful retro toys and victorian dollshouses and craft activities and a sandpit with deckchairs round it and puppet show and gorgeous stuff. Thanks for the recommendations!
