Hi

I spotted a topic about where to eat but can anyone advise on accommodation. Family inc 2yr 8yr & 11yr - we like a good standard of accommodation, don't mind if hotel or apartment. Most important thing is central location, 4*+ and your recommendation!!

Thanks

Have a look at puertopollensa.com, and click on forum. There is loads of advice on accommodation, and restaurants etc.

We went there for the first time this year, absolutely loved it. Cant wait to go back. I used the above website to plan the holiday (and booked an apartment from one of the advertisers).

we stayed in the Playamar apts. it's fantastic for kids as it's a Thomson Superfamily. It's not central but the pinewalk is lovely in the evenings.

I would try a private rental near pine walk where all the spanish go. We had the most wonderful holiday in a privately rented apartment close to the Illa D'Or hotel which is really lovely. We had 3 beds, 2 baths, luxury kitchen with oven, hob microwave dishwasher and washing machine.

Personally, we weren't that keen on Puerto pollensa itself, I think it's on the verge of being a bit downmarket. However, we absolutely loved the beaches, they're perfect for families and we also loved Pollenca town and old alcudia which are just beautiful with lovely shops and restaurants.

The Travel Club of Upminster have some lovely self catering appartments - we stayed at the Club Illa D'or (Part of the Hotel Illa D'or). Great location at the end of the pinewalk where the are some great restaurants. Have been on several Travel Club holidays now - all good. Not badly priced & some reasonable child deals.
