We visited Lake Garda this May - weather warm but rained most days on and off.

We stayed at Campsite Eden ( mobile home) with Thomson Al Fresco. It was good value.

We drove down (with our 3 kids!) - Numerous stops along the way.

If you are going to drive - be warned they are maniacs!

We were involved in a car accident on our return trip close to Milan. Our car was undriveable - an italian hit 6 cars first and stopped in the back of ours! we had to be flown home and our car took 5 weeks to get back let alone the repair time! Take out travel insurances they were great.
