Wheres the best winter sun holiday you have had? Need inspiration!!!

We were considering Egypt but very grateful for views on that one. So....open to suggestions for late December this year. Budget is £2500 for one week for me and dh, 7 and 5 year old and a one year old. Desperately need to relax. Whats the most relaxing hol you've had? Please recomend a destination. Very stuck!!

We went to Abu Soma a few years ago - but it's much more than your budget

Canary Islands are lovely (weather wise) in the winter.

mauritius it was fab lovely and warm clear blue seas and the service in the hotel was faultless
we stayed at the hilton here

Cheap but nice winter sun destinations are very rare. All the really nice places (Maldives, Sechelles, Mauritius, Carribean)will be more expensive than your budget.

I saw your other thread and menionted Sharm. I think the Sinai penninsula of Egypt might be your best bet but maybe not Sharm itself. Try the Hilton Dahab (about an hour north of Sharm). Its a lovely hotel with gorgeous sheltered beach and lovely pools. Food is good too. Have stayed there lots (for diving) and never been ill. Dahab is a relaxing little resort.

I just checked and if you went to the Hilton Dahab with Thomson for one week you could afford it.
