Legoland - picnic facilities?

We have somehow managed to end up having DS1's birthday at Legoland. My recollection of our previous trip there was that the food was grim and the food places crowded. So, given that we will be a bit of a crowd this time, I was wondering if it was possible to bring a big picnic. However I cannot figure out from the wbsite whether there are any picnicking facilities. Maybe I am mad and theme parks never have such facilities because you would not spend so much money if they did? Anyone got a clue?

You can picnic there but as I recall there are no specific picnic facilities just pitch up on a piec of grass or a bench, no undercover facilties tho I don't think.

There is a small picnic area at the back left hand side of Legoland by the little dinosaur jeep ride. Look at the online map. Basically as you go down the hill you reach the splash play area - turn left there and cross the railway track and you will come across it!

Under trees not undercover though

There was a marquee place I did see but I think it was for the cafe overspill

Oh thank you - I suppose they would make it difficult to find and unappealing to boost revenues.

Am fighting visions of small children huddling in cafe overspill in pouring rain surreptitiously eating snadwiches...

Tis typical British Day-Out scene!! Insist everyone takes waterproofs, take a couple of waterproof blankets to sit on and lots of chocolate and it will be a roaring success!!

if its not show time, and is raining you can eat under the marquee where they do the puppet shows, just after fairy tale brook and the splash area opp fish and chip shop, lots of people do that
