Brussels with a toddler

We're going to Brussels for 4 days next month with our 20 month old. We will be taking the Eurostar and staying in Brussels City Centre.

Can anyone recommend things to do/see that won't provoke gigantic tantrums in my son? We've never been to Brussels so I don't know much about it, but I am very excited nonetheless!

Lots of hot chocolate with slagroom. Waffles as well. If you go to Chez Leon for dinner, children eat free and can have chicken and chips/moules and chips and chocolate mousse.

There is a little playground in the central gardens by the palace for a break; there is a big park, the Bruparck, where the Atomium is and Mini-Europe, but he's probably a bit young for that - though you might enjoy it!

Sorry - hadn't finished. We took a 9 and 6 year old this summer and they loved the waterpark and Mini-Europe. The Comic Strip museum wasn't great, and your son is far too young for it. They liked going on the metro. The Grand Place is very striking and a good place for a stroll. At 20 months I should think it's more about keeping him well-fed and giving him a chance to run around!

There is a lovely restaurant in the Bois de la Cambre with a huge outdoor playground.
