where to take 2 year old to Canary Islands if you hate loud music/typical Brits abroad and want nice beaches and a nice pool?

need some winter sun..

would like to go somewhere that ideally has bigger rooms that you can cordon off a bit (suite I suppose), with very nice beach/swimming, and not loud and chavvy.

any tips much appreciated!

If you have the budget here is really lovely, can't wait to go back at some point.

We stayed at the Princess Yaiza a couple of years ago, they have kiko suites, which have two beds, each ensuite and a big sitting room and kitchen area, all attached toa 5 star hotel. Great kids facilities, great pools, beach OK. Quiet too. Sovereign do it here I hope

Whoops sorry, just read that the children need to be 3, have changed the rules since we were there!!

Agree with Princess Yaiza-children under 3 can't be loft, but you can go and use all theclub facilities with them...it's a lovely hotel with a nice srtoll to resturants/bars along by the sea.

Hotel Costa canaria in Gran Canaria - Full of Mainland Spaniards (politicians mainly the ones we met) and Germans (but not the run for the towel sort). Quality and service top marks and late whole family dinners where children are encouraged to join in - followed by eurobeat disco where all the small children dance. It sounds cringeworthy but it was one of the best holidays we've ever had in terms of relaxation. Masopalomas (sp?) sand dunes are within walking distance. Hotel has private gardens with gate access onto a nice beach.
Proper whole family entertainment.

we're off to the Princesa Yaiza next week for half term - is it good?

princesa yaiza is fab - great location, great pools, great food, great playground, minimarket close at hand...... saving up to go back!!

Princess Yaiza is really fab! We've just come back from there and the place had plenty of under 3's.

If you stay in the main part of the hotel and have a junior suite it is a large bedroom with sofa beds in the sitting area which is separated by a half wall so is sort of private. It's a suite hotel so a junior suite is just a good room so don't be put off by the suite bit.

There are often some good deals to be found too.

We went to La Gomera three years ago, when DD1 was 21 months old - it was bliss. Beautiful scenery, very unspoilt, very untouristy. From memory the place we stayed was called Jardin Tecina - it was on the side of a cliff, with lovely swimming pools and restaurants.

I think La Gomera has a small airport, but we got there by flying to Tenerife and then taking a ferry (about 45 mins by ferry, as I recall).

Wish we could go back, have always meant to!

we stayed here a couple of times.

found it really great with small children because all the villas are set either around a pool (there about 6) or directly on the beach (lagoon), meaning that when little ones are sleeping in the day you can be out in the sun

we always had a beachside villa and the children took their toast out in the mornings and ate it on the beach - also fed the little fish with the crusts!

the complex itself was nice, with restaurants and a good poolside bar/snack bar by the main pool (no villas round that one) and you can easily walk into the resort to restaurants etc, but costa teguise isn't really very posh iyswim. it's lanzarote! and there are a lot of brits obviously.

i would go again without hesitation for sunshine and relaxation - no culture or sightseeing, just rest!
