Next August DH and I are considering braving a holiday abroad, and looking at France (Brittany / Normandy)
Anyone been to keycamp or alfresco? We have 2 ds who will be 6 and 4 and dd who will be 1.
We would fly drive to avoid too long a journey.

We have been a couple of times with Canvas, and they have been great. I think Canvas are usually on the same sites as Keycamp.

Our children are teenagers, and we went to Le Garengoire in the Vendee this year (as did half of Mumsnet, I think!)

They are desperate to go back, but DH and I would like to go somewhere with more restaurants within walking distance, so we've been looking at sites in Southern Brittany.

Hi - we went with Thomson Alfresco this summer to Southern Brittany and had an absolutely fab holiday. The mobile home was spotless and roomy (Rossini - look on their website) the site was on the beach and had good facilities (site was Yelloh! Village La Plague). First time we had done this type of hols - have 2 DD's aged 7 & 3 so very similar age to yours. Cannot recommend highly enough - I think the Thomson Alfresco accomodation is generally a higher standard than keycamp/eurocamp etc.. Hope this helps.

I have had lots of recommendations for Eurocamp in Brittany and if we get away next year, it will be to one of those places. I think, from all I've heard, that your boys will love it (I have 3 boys and I've been told they'll be in their element!).

thanks; that is one site I looked at winedrinker.
Anyone stayed in the tents? (thinking of budget!)

Went with Thomson Alfresco to south of France last year with DD (then nearly 1yo). Had a brilliant time - lovely site and the mobile was really clean and modern.

Just got a brochure from them through the post for next summer. Looks like they have some good offers and am working on DH to let me book Piannace in Tuscany for June.

We've flown then hired a car at the other end as didn't fancy driving right down to south of France.

We went to south Brittany at the beginning of September and stayed in a tent with DD (18 months).

It was great fun and she loved it!!

Planning to go again next year.
