Suggestions for a beach holiday w/ 18mth old in Sept/Oct?

Just wanted to know if anyone could suggest/recommend some suitable places/resort/etc. for an affordable beach holiday with our 18 month old. DH wants to be able to enjoy a sandy beach & sun while DD plays in the sand. I'd just like to make sure that the accommodation is nice & borderline luxurious (without paying through the nose though don't really think that's possible these days)...Ideally DH would prefer full/half-board but not absolutely necessary.

TIA.

Canary Islands a good bet for that time of year and not too far. Turkey too.

We're off to Sardinia on Saturday, though it's going to rain there this weekend , but should be good on the whole.

Probably find some good deals on the internet for late sun, try expedia, hotels.com and thomson

We went to the Le Meridian in Cyprus and we had a good deal for half board for 1 week; total for 2 adults and a toddler: approx £1,500 inclusive

Nice and still warm in Oct. Kids get full board and the food is good. It is a family hotel and there is lots of kids entertainment such as a kids disco (our Ds tried to join in with the big kids) and a toddler pool. Lots of other families also so everyone understands screaming child.

The time difference is +2 hours so we altered our routinue slightly so we ate dinner together and then we went to the kids entertainment before bath/bedtime at 9.30pm. They will supply what baby equipment you need.

Also lots of activites for parents such as water aerobics, football, ten pin bowling etc. Downside are drinks in bar are expensive so we found the local supermarket and stocked up.

If you are lucky, the corner rooms have a large terrace rather than the tiny balcony.

We went to Lanzarote in October in the Princess Yaitza (think thats how its spelt) which has some rooms/suites in a block which are like little flats, with two beds, baths and a little kitchen area. (very nice though!) They are connected to the hotel by a tunnel and the block has its own pool.

The hotel is 4 or 5 star and has lots of play areas. We went through Thompson, it was much less than comparable hotels elsewhere. We paid about the same as the last three star hotel holiday. This was three years ago though, don't know if its changed.
