Well, now that I've ruled out Lapland UK, can anyone recommend top places for a Christmassy experience? Bears will be 6, 3 and 1; want to do something magical before the eldest becomes too sceptical...(when does that happen?).

Santa visited Bocketts Farm near Leatherhead, in an unusual straw bale grotto last year (we went to Lapland UK too and whilst we did enjoy that, value for money-wise, i would go for Bocketts)

Kew Gardens and Painshill Park are both supposed to be good.

Painshill Park do a very nice Santa in a grotto - at least, it was nice when we went about 4 years ago! We still have the fridge magnet!

Squires Garden Centre at Badshot Lea is a nice little informal one, just turn up and wait, no need to book.

Meant to say that's near Farnham.
