duinrell-things to do

we're off to duinrell at end of september for 2 weeks with keycamp in villagrand 3 with decking any recommendations of things to do places to go etc would be appreciated taking sleeping bags as dont fancy using their blankets

If you do a search for Duinrell you should find a fair few threads on it. I have booked for Easter after reading them, lots of tips and suggestions of where to go.

You will probably be on site for most of the time as there's so much to do!!! There is a supermarket on site but DO NOT eat at the restaurant on site as it's really bad!! There are some fab restaurants in Wassenaar - about 10 mins walk or 5 mins drive. We liked Oranje and Broeders and there was also a lovely Italian too. The town is lovely - full of NICE shops and lovely chocolate shops. The beach isn't far - you could hire bikes and cycle to it or drive. Further afield you've got Amsterdam, Madurodam (NL in miniature village) and biger resorts like Schevingen just up the coast. Duinrell is amazing you'll love it!!

There is a lovely restaurant called De Lof de Zotheid - just off the main street in Wassenaar. Lovely spare ribs (V Dutch) and a good childrens' menu too - think they may even do take outs. Here is the website for the address (menu also given in English)

There is also a great tapas bar and deli called Ma Gusta - just along from De Lof.

Try the Oreo cake in the Bagel Alley cafe on the main street - huge portions but yummy! (Also nice bagels of course!!!)

The Hague is quite nice for a potter around.
