MM, do you have an ATM card? We always take cash out from the ATMs as we need it when on holiday. Nationwide doesn't charge for withdrawals overseas but I think some of the other banks do.

I have always ordered foreign currency online at Travelexwww.travelex.co.uk
and picked it up at the airport. Few times I have ordered their travel money card and its safe and better than the bank card because there is no additional fee for withdrawals an in case you lose it, they will replace it. They also buy back the money at the same rate. For me, its all very convenient

I used a Euro currency card from CaxtonFX. Chose them after some research over Fair fx because they didn't charge to withdraw cash when you're abroad. Its much nicer not having to get out big quantities of cash! worked in shops too. the website shows the rates and they are much better than getting it at the airport. loved it!
