How much spending money do I need ???

The other thread about stuff being expensive abroad has got me worried.

I have already got a certain amount set aside to take, but I want to know what you lot think I should take.

There will be me, 3 kids and my mum, although my mum will pay her own way really.

We are self catering and plan to eat out for our evening meal.

We are going for 1 week.

I would say allow about £75 per day for all of you, but could probably get away with £60 per day if need be.

Where are you going?

We found that meals were about 20E for an adult and about 7E for a child, not including drinks. Drinks were easily 3E a piece, although tap water was free.

If you can go to a large supermarket, you should be able to pay about the same as here, depending on what you get. If it's a tourist trap minimarket, expect to pay about 50% more.

I was planning on taking 1000 euros.

I think that is a fine budget, 150E per day.
