Hello, has anyone been and if so did you stay in one of the themed hotels or an ordinary hotel and got the bus or walked to the theme park.
Thanks.

We stayed in the El Paso which was very nice for the children. They have a lovely kids club which we used if the children wanted during the hottest bit of the day. The pools were lovely and the evening entertainment was very jolly. Every evening ended with movies shown cinema style by the pool, very civilised.

Nothing was bad, I find the whole herding of the masses at meal times fantastic for people watching opportunities. The theme park was nice and just a 5 min walk away. I generally don't holiday in hotels or ever go to theme parks but I found the whole thing very bareable.

We did walk into Salou one day but found it a really depressing dive. The beach had lovely sand but it was simply jam-packed and un-fun to the extreme.

i have been we stayed in salou there is a tram thing that runs daily and is free (?) from salou. well i presume it was free people just jumped onto it and i couldnt see anwhere you could buy tickets for it.

we went on a bus trip from our hotel as we got cheaper entry through our tour company.

i loved salou but agree its very crowded and commercialised. think benidorm stylee. but there is loads for the dc's and a lot of nice pubs/restaurants etc.

Thanks for the replies, the Benidorm thing makes me uneasy, I hate the place but the theme park sounds great and there is a private beach club for people staying in a themed hotel.

We are going to Salou on 30th August, we booked because of the theme park, have read reviews since and think it could be a bit crowded for us and looking at some of the photo's does look similar to Benidorm, but we are planning trips to Barcelona and Terragona so won't be spending too much time in the resort.

good idea Kslatts, will probably do similar.Let me know what it was like please.

I've been to the theme park a few times, but we've never stayed there. It's a really good day out although we felt it would have been too much for us to stay onsite and one day was enough at the park.

We stayed in Alcossebre, a few hours down the coast and really, really lovely, but if you're staying close to the theme park, Cambrils is lovely for a daytrip and it's worth the long - ish drive to Valencia too if you can manage it.

Have fun x
