Has anyone used lastminute.com Top Secret Hotel deal?

I want to book a few nights away with dh and have been looking on last minute at the top secret hotel deals - has anyone done them?

Would you book a hotel not knowing which one it was?

you can work it out because the description is the same as the hotel description on the site

Does it work out cheaper than laterooms? (for the same hotel)

Yes, I booked Threadneedles a couple of weeks ago for just me as I was meeting some friends in London. I KNEW it was Threeadneedles though as it said "converted banking hall" - I got one night ina standard room for £147, on a Friday.

Whenever I've looked at those deals thoguh I've only ever considered it (or booked as above_) once I'nm sure of which hotel it is. It's always easy to work out, read the reviews etc.

And £147 was cheaper than Laterooms for the night I stayed.

So the answer for me is I wouldn't book it NOT knowing but I did knowing I had worked out whcih one it was.

OK - will start reading the hotel reviews and see what I can find!

My sister did, not knowing (it was in Madrid). It was a very flash 4-5 star hotel which was mainly aimed at business people and she said it was much nicer and quieter than the others she'd been looking at for the same price. It wasn't very romantic though
