getting from East Mids airport to Derby station

I know there's a bus shuttle every 30 mins with skyways or whatever they're called but are there any other bus services? Or would taxi be not too extortionate? plane gets in at 12.05 and dh needs to be at derby station for 1325 train. Do-able?

Can any east midland-y mumsnetters help me?

DS1 did this (the other way round) in June & it was fine

Timetable here - buses leave the airport at 20 & 50 mins & take 31 mins to the station so if he can catch the 12.20 he's fine, if not he'll have 4 minutes the other end

Has he hand luggage only?

That's great, thank you. Yes, it's a bit tight with the Skylink, but he and dd1 are travelling just with hand luggage so that should help with a quick getaway .

So there's not a public bus service in case he misses the skylink?

Has he booked train tickets? If so it would prob be much cheaper to spend the extra £23 on a taxi than to miss the train & have to buy new on-the-day tickets (I once bought an advance ticket - Luton-Leeds I think - for about £10, only 2-3 days in advance, & when I tried to buy another the day before it was something like £120 )
