I always overpack and take too much, for me and DD. We often bring back things we haven't worn.

So, what is your definite list? Wha do you really need to take and what should you leave behind?

I always forget that I am not going to the middle of the jungle and I can probably buy anything we need when there -

my medicine bag is always HUGE

popsycal · 01/08/2008 20:33

according to the home page, you need a packet of balloons

where ARE YOU GOING BTW?

katz · 01/08/2008 20:39

popsycal - we're off to the czech republic, 3 days in prague and 7 days in a small town 1 hour south.

popsycal · 01/08/2008 20:39

Hulababy · 01/08/2008 20:42

well i went last when i was 18 so my interests of cheap beer and snogging ancient amercians would probably not interest you

i did love st vitus cathedral thgouh - i am not at all religious but really enjoyed visiting there

popsycal · 01/08/2008 20:48

the children will love the clock in the old town square anc thd funicular railway

Hulababy · 01/08/2008 21:53

Thanks

No, can't see us doing the old snogging americans bit but the clocka nd railway sound good.

Gobbledigook · 01/08/2008 22:01

lilolil - 4 cases?! I've got 2 big suitcases and am debating whether to put towels, hairdrier, straighteners (oh yes indeedy!) in a smaller weekend case as well since we do have 75Kg allowance!

galletti · 01/08/2008 22:07

Aah Hula, we have 12 more sleeps too till ours. You are far more organised than me though. I keep saying it seems like a long way off still this year, but STILL havent even thought about packing. ~Off to start list now ....

galletti · 01/08/2008 22:08

Ooh yes just seem lilolill's post - vanish a must!

katz · 01/08/2008 22:14

galletti - we've still got some stuff to sort, i'm not sure we'll have a car when we get there!

Hulababy · 03/08/2008 19:14

Oh I haven't started packing; now here near lol. That will be Wednesday mornings job, the day we go! Just trying to sort my head out on how little I should try and take.

As you've got a w/m you can be fairly minimalistic.

I tend to pack 3 complete sets of clothes each, plus extra underwear. That's plenty with a w/m.

I don't take too much though. A few weeks ago we went away for one night. We went walking the first evening and got wet/muddy. Changed clothes for the second day and got wet/muddy again. So went back to youth hostel and boys changed into their PJs to travel home, as they were the only dry/clean clothes they had left!
