Not that I'm considering it (much) as I have a nice holiday on the norfolk broads organized.

But how late could you or would you go?

i have in past pre DS booked at 9.30am & flown at 6.00pm the same day!
was really cheap & was fine as no ds, but wouldnt do it that short notice again, we did last year with ds book 5days before we travelled

DH and I packed and went to Gatwick 2 weeks ago, with 13 month ds! Got a flight with a charter airline pretty cheap to Majorca. We booked an appartment through an agent at Palma airport- this was cheap! Overall, no cheaper than booking a last min package deal, but we were pleased to be able to move around the island a bit.[
