Looking at next Easter for 10 days - ish. Not sure we really want to have 4 of us in a single hotel room for that length of time, so looking at sc. Villas rather OTT for one family amd would ideally prefer Lake Buena Vista type location, so can use Disney facilities in evenings without taking the car. Any recommendations for condos or apartments ?

Have a look at "town houses" on various web sites. Are often smaller and cheaper than a villa( many don't have private pool)

foofi · 26/07/2008 19:29

We are a family of 4 and have stayed 3 times in villas in Orlando - don't agree that a villa is OTT. It gives you space and freedom to do your own thing.

anyone come across the Staybridge Suites ? think it is part of the Marriot complex. The flights alone come in between 2k and 2.5k How do you do it "on the cheap" lol?

I don't think you can do it on the cheap anymore unless you can go completely outwith uk holiday time.We ahve justbooked flights for next july. This will be our 4th year running and the flight price has doubled from 3 years ago. I agree with foofi. The villas are great value.

MotherOfMadHouse · 02/08/2008 18:07

Foofi, who have you booked your villas with and did you have a pool with them? We are hoping to go end of November for 1st time - 2 kids, 9 and 5. Thanks.

Just trying to look at Monarch/Cosmos and although they list Staybridge there are no flights to Florida in April 2009 showing . Are Sanford flights a real pita ?

We flew into sandford and it wasnt a PITA, its only about an hour tops from Disney (we stayed on disney)

have you looked at seats with Travelcity? Think they had availability for apr 09. We went easter last year, it was heaving

We have always booked our villa with ownersdirect. You can see what you are getting online. Never been disappointed.

Hello. We stay at the Sheriton vistana resort at lake Buena Vista. It is fantastic, we book through Virgin as they get the best apartments there. They call them villas but they are two bedroomed apartments with kitchen area and lounge. Fantastic standards, maid cleans daily, huge tvs, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer. Each bedroom has its own bathroom and our room had spa pool in it! The complex is enormous and you would need a car to get around it. There are various pools and bars although we are too busy at Disney or elsewhere to use them. About 5 mins from Disney I prefer it to International drive as you feel as if you are getting away from the hustle and bustle. Would highly recommend.

LIZS · 03/08/2008 20:36

thanks newpup will have a look at that .

sh!t just looked at the Jetsave website - headline prices really good but thenadded more than the cost of the holiday again in fuel surcharges so coming in over 6k

OP posts:

anyone booked for next year and found lower surcharges ? These were Virgin flights btw, adding £1195 per adult and £695 per child.
