I'm thinking of purchasing a back carrier for our travels. Any recommendations?

The Ergo! Fabulously comfortable, lightweight and it folds up into it's own little storage bag - so very portable. Try

Littlelife ultralight. Really light weight, doesn't have a frame and has a pocket in the backand a carry bag. Reasonably adjustable too. We got ours for about £50 from www.swissfridge.co.uk.

Have you found that you've got lots of use out of it? Do you normally just check them through on flights?

I use my ergo every day with my 15 month old. Doing the school run, often doing the housework, DD loves it on my back. It's literally just made of fabric ( no hard bits at all apart from the buckles ) and folds into a bag, small enough to pop into hand luggage. Very very comfortable, I can wear it for several hours at a time.

we've got a macpac possum. Love it and we take it on the plane with us.

We have a Vaude Jolly - predecessor of this one . It folded flat enough to be put in overhead compartment of plane as hand luggage although regulations may have changed since we did so. Still use it occasionally for dd (3) as she is light and we like to walk beyond her stamina. Dh has found it comfortable and we like beign able to use it a s a freestanding seat when there was no highchair or child was asleep and we'd stopped.

Sorry, that only takes you to their home page. Follow "Products > Catalogue > Rucksacks > Kids & Co. > Jolly Light "

We had a bush baby which was fab fopt it from the little trekkers web site. Excellent for carrying all your bits as well as the baby and very comfortable.

I'm an Ergo user and fan too! DH and I could never get on with the frame back carriers. They are great in that you can put baby in it before you put it on your back (unlike the Ergo) but DH and I would get back ache after wearing a framed-carrier for half an hour. It was fine up until she wegihed over 18lbs.

Now she is 2 and the Ergo is a dream to use. She still manages to sleep in it too.

Is the ergo people have rated highly on this thread the classic?
